About The Horse & Jockey

Established as a hostelry in 1740, the Horse & Jockey has seen many incarnations in its time; Since October 2012, however, when "The Jockey" (as it is locally known) came under new management, things have gone from strength to strength
With the pub being awarded CAMRA East Midland’s District Pub of the Year for 2013, CAMRA Nottingham Branch Pub of the Year for 2013 & 2014, CAMRA Nottinghamshire’s District Pub of the Year 2013 & 2014, CAMRA National Awards Finalist 2014 & our most recent award Nottingham LocAle Pub of the Year 2016!
Quiet background music is the norm; So, you can always find a peaceful corner to chat, relax or read the ‘papers, either in the main bar area, in front of our open fire, or in the quiet raised area, by a warming log burner; And, with 13 ever-changing hand-pulls available, you should be able to find something to suit your palette. The Jockey is very dog-friendly (water bowl and treats) and has become popular with local walkers and cyclists, being situated close to the eastern side of the Erewash Valley trail. We are also conveniently located close to frequent local transport links to Nottingham, Derby, Ilkeston & Long Eaton via the Trent Barton i4 & My15 ‘bus services.
